Privacy Policy

Personal Business Book ("the app") helps you track personal finances and run a small business from one place. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can delete it.

Information we collect

Name, email address, mobile number (optional)	To create and secure your account, and to identify you within the app
Password	Stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash — we never store or can see your actual password
Personal financial records you enter	Income, expenses, savings, budgets, and similar entries you choose to add — used solely to show them back to you in the app and your reports
Business records you enter	Customers, products, sales, invoices, payments, inventory, and supplier data you choose to add, for the same purpose
Subscription status	Your Pro plan and expiry date, to unlock paid features; purchases are processed by Google Play Billing, which has its own privacy policy
Referral code and referral history	To run the in-app referral rewards program
Device notification token / local schedule	Used only to show the optional daily reminder you configure — this stays on your device and is never sent to a third party
Basic login metadata (IP address, device name, timestamp)	Security — detecting suspicious logins and letting you see your own login history

All of the data above is entered by you or generated by your own use of the app. We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in a MySQL database on our hosting provider, accessed only through this app's own API over an authenticated, encrypted connection. Reports you export as PDF are generated on your device and saved or shared using your device's own share/print system — we never see or receive a copy of an exported PDF.

Third-party services

Google Play Billing — processes Pro subscription payments. Google's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.
Google Fonts — the app's typeface is loaded from Google's font service, which may log a basic request (including IP address) the same as any web font request.

We do not use analytics SDKs, ad networks, or crash-reporting services that collect personal data at the time of writing.

Your rights

Access & export — Pro users can export a full backup of their data at any time from Settings, and export any report as a PDF.
Correction — every record you enter can be edited or deleted directly in the app.
Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → "Delete my account", or see our Account & Data Deletion page for details.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, every record tied to it is permanently and immediately removed from our database — this cannot be undone and there is no recovery window.

Children's privacy

This app is intended for general audiences managing personal or business finances and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
